On a then-ordinary morning in 1996, Haroldo was doing his routine in the sky aboard his own aircraft. However, in just a few minutes, he would witness something that would change his life forever…

“I left Porto Alegre at about 8:30 a.m. on Saturday. The day in question was significantly clear, with excellent visibility for flying (…). I was following a flight pattern that was fully monitored by Air Traffic Control!”
According to Gilberto dos Santos (an airport employee), one of the people directly involved in the case, it was a unique moment in his life. He and two other colleagues who worked at the airport were talking, very close to where the planes were landing. It was a perfect morning to observe the sky – practically cloudless.
At the exact moment Haroldo arrived in Pelotas, while carrying out a procedure to the city of Capão do Leão, he noticed a mysterious aircraft above Lagoa dos Patos to his left. Surprised by the unusual characteristics of the object, Haroldo reported everything to the tower, where Gilberto dos Santos was, and asked: “Are you observing the same thing I am observing?”
Upon being notified by the pilot (Haroldo), Gilberto and his two colleagues immediately turned their eyes to Lagoa dos Patos; and what they saw above the lagoon left them absolutely speechless.
The UFO that was floating above Lagoa dos Patos produced an extensive shadow of titanic proportions according to Gilberto who observed everything from afar. The size was apparently that of a football stadium or even much larger.
Even though the object was significantly far from where they were (the airport), both Gilberto and his two colleagues could clearly observe the UFO. They were surprised and confused because they simply did not understand why there was a floating island above the lagoon.
In order to learn more about what he was observing, Harold changes his route and tries to get closer to the enormous UFO. Harold manages to get very close to the object and, even with 20 years of flying experience, he simply could not see any logic in what he was witnessing.
After making a significant analysis of the object based on some equipment he has, Gilberto becomes fully aware of the UFO’s enormous size. Within a few minutes he also notices a curious characteristic: the object has the identical shape of a pyramid.
Haroldo attempted an even closer approach to the mysterious aircraft, which was flying over Sarangonha Island. Every movement was carefully calculated according to safety measures. As he approached, he had the chance to fly for about 15 minutes around and following the mysterious aircraft, which was flying at an altitude of five thousand feet.
With all possible caution, Haroldo tries to get even closer to the titanic UFO that was calmly crossing the skies. After a few turns around the UFO, the pilot can have an extremely detailed and privileged view of the entire object and its size.
With each turn around the object, it became increasingly clear to him that this was no ordinary object, it was something he had never seen in his entire life. Something that perhaps no one had ever seen before.
The pilot revealed that the UFO had several protrusions. It was rotating while in the sky, not being round, but having a total of 8 very defined sides like we can see in a pyramid. The color of the UFO was between brown and a shiny dark bronze. He could not locate any air vents or anything like that. The top of the ‘pyramid’ was similar to a dome.
As he completed the fifth orbit around the UFO, something truly frightening happened. The dome that existed in the highest region of the object began to open. Approximately 60 meters high, the UFO began to change, opening some kind of floodgate, leaving Harold completely helpless.
Everything started to get even more macabre when he noticed that the huge object that was right in front of him could be a large main ship (or mother ship), because when he opened the hatches, a new object, very similar to the classic flying saucers, ended up coming out of it. The new object that came out of the larger UFO stopped in the sky suddenly, tilted 45% and shot off at an unprecedented speed. The pilot simply lost visual contact with the smaller object at the same second.
Noticing the possible exposed entrance, Harold tries to get closer again in order to see what it’s like inside the unknown ship. However, he quickly notices that the UFO is once again undergoing changes. Spinning significantly faster, the mysterious UFO begins to emit a strong reddish light from the hatch. At that moment, the titanic UFO shoots away at the same speed as the smaller object, and quickly disappears from Harold’s sight.
Gilberto and his two co-workers who were watching everything from the ground were shocked to realize how such a large object could reach such speed in less than 1 second.
It is important to make it clear that this is a case reported by a pilot with more than 30 years of experience in the field, who decided to break the silence and reveal his experience to everyone.
All those directly involved in the case, such as pilot Haroldo, the employees who were with Gilberto and Gilberto himself, are people with extensive experience in observing objects in the sky and are flight experts. Therefore, we can state that this is a highly credible event and should not be dismissed as an illusion or mirage.
