The Nimitz UFO Incident (2004)
In November 2004, one of the most famous and well-documented UFO encounters in modern history took place off the coast of Southern California.
Pilots from the USS Nimitz Carrier Strike Group, including Commander David Fravor, were directed to investigate an unusual radar contact. What they encountered was a mysterious white, Tic Tac-shaped object hovering above the ocean.

According to the pilots, the object had no visible wings, engines, or exhaust. It performed incredible maneuvers, accelerating almost instantly, changing direction without slowing down, and disappearing from sight within seconds—movements far beyond the capabilities of known aircraft at the time.
The encounter was tracked by multiple radar systems, visually observed by trained military personnel, and later supported by infrared footage recorded by another U.S. Navy aircraft. In 2017, the U.S. Department of Defense confirmed that the released “FLIR1” video was authentic, bringing worldwide attention to the case.
To this day, the true identity of the object remains officially unexplained, making the Nimitz Incident one of the strongest and most debated UFO cases ever recorded.
