Cash–Landrum Incident (1980) – The UFO Encounter That Ended Up in Court! 
On December 29, 1980, Betty Cash, Vickie Landrum, and 7-year-old Colby Landrum were driving along a quiet road in Texas when they claimed to witness one of the most mysterious UFO encounters ever reported.
According to their testimony, they saw a large, diamond-shaped object hovering above the road, emitting intense heat and bright flames. The heat was reportedly so powerful that it made their car too hot to touch.
Moments later, they claimed to see more than 20 military-style helicopters surrounding or escorting the mysterious object.
Following the encounter, the witnesses reported suffering from burn-like injuries, nausea, blistering, hair loss, and other serious health problems. Betty Cash was later hospitalized due to the severity of her condition.
Believing the object was connected to a secret military operation, they filed a $20 million lawsuit against the U.S. government. However, the case was dismissed because there was no evidence proving that the government owned or operated the alleged craft or helicopters.
To this day, the Cash–Landrum Incident remains one of the most controversial and debated UFO cases in history. While some believe it points to a secret military project or an unexplained aerial phenomenon, no official explanation has confirmed what the witnesses experienced.
