On November 11, 1987, Ed Walters had a life changing encounter with a UFO in Gulf Breeze, Florida. As he stood outside his home, a massive beam of light shot down from a hovering craft, lifting him three feet off the ground. A voice assured him, “Don’t worry, we will not harm you,” before everything went black. This was just the first of 19 strange encounters that would follow in the coming months.

Walters became a key figure in one of the most documented UFO cases in history. He took over 40 photographs and filmed the object on numerous occasions. These images showed a craft that would return repeatedly sometimes following his car, other times hovering directly over his house. The consistency of the sightings made his case one of the most well known UFO stories of its time.
An optical physicist thoroughly analyzed the photographs, ruling out any manipulation or tampering. Walters also passed two separate polygraph tests, which bolstered the credibility of his claims. Investigators used state of the art technology, including stereo cameras and a 3D rig, to rule out any possibility of double exposure or faked images. Every technical test returned the same result: clean evidence.
The investigation gained the attention of some of the world’s largest UFO organizations. Local investigators teamed up with national authorities to conduct a thorough inquiry. More than 135 Gulf Breeze residents came forward with their own accounts of strange sightings, including a city councilwoman, a county commissioner, and a woman who witnessed an orange lit craft hovering above her home at 2 am.
The director of the investigation team spent years compiling evidence and testimony from the area. His conclusion was clear: the overwhelming evidence pointed to something unexplainable. Gulf Breeze had witnessed one of the most significant UFO events in history. This case stands as a testament to the possibility that UFOs are not just figments of imagination but real, unexplained phenomena.
